MBA in Maritime Management
Course Description
The maritime industry is a key component of today's economy. More than 90% of global cargo movements are undertaken by sea and thus a complex interaction of business organizations generate a need for professionals who can make a positive strategic contribution. This innovative program of MBA in Maritime Management is offered by B.K. School of Professional and Management Studies and capitalises on the long standing experience of the institute in delivering Master's programmes at Master of Business Administration levels.
There are two specialization offered under this Program
Port Management
Ports are the critical infrastructure resources and serve a key role in the transportation of freight and people. Port is the critical node where marine transport is connected with mode of transportation where trade, distribution and logistics activity take place. Currently India has 13 Major and 265 Minor Ports on 7500 km of long coastline and to administer these ports, the supply of skilled human resource is low. With no university on Ports and Alleged Industry in Gujarat especially, Gujarat University had initiated and created a tailor-made course as per the requirement of industry.
Shipping and Logistics
The main areas of Shipping and Logistics Management includes Logistics Management for International Trade, Third-Party Logistics, Linear-Freight Practise, Ship-Charting Practise, Transit Risk Management, Freight Forwarding and Custom Clearance for Exim Cargo. With about a million of companies in Logistics in India, it generates opportunities for millions of skilled human resources.
